Arugam Bay
Arugam Bay (Tamil: அறுகம் குடா), locally known as “Arugam Kudah”, is located on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of the southeast coast of Sri Lanka and is a historical settlement of the old territory of Batticaloa (Mattakallappu Desam). The bay is located 117 kilometres south of Batticaloa, 320 kilometres east of Colombo and about 4 kilometres south of the market town of Pottuvil.

Despite significant development in the last decade, it is still home to the endangered and endemic purple langur, a normally shy monkey species found only in the forests of Sri Lanka.
Nilaveli
Nilaveli is a coastal village and suburb of Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka, 16 km northwest of the city of Trincomalee. A historically popular Tamil village and tourist destination in the district alongside nearby Uppuveli, visitor numbers declined after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and Sri Lanka’s civil war, but have increased since 2010. Pigeon Island National Park, one of the two marine national parks in the region, is located 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli and contributes to the rich biodiversity of Nilaveli with its numerous species of vegetation, coral and reef fish.

The city is home to the Pasikudah Mariamman Temple. Pasikudah is easily accessible from the cities of Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
Kalpitiya
Kalpitiya is a fishing village located on the west coast of Sri Lanka 170 km away. The beaches are secluded and not crowded. The main activities are concentrated on the lagoon, the wind is suitable for kitesurfing and windsurfing. It is also one of the places from where whale and dolphin watching tours can be made. Kalpitiya can be reached via the Colombo Puttalam Rd/A3.
